AFAIK, dotside is also official. The experimental stuff isn't, however. I'll ask on the BPFK list and get back to you.
As far as jboselkei is concerned, I think the stance is strictly official only, or possibly non-official + common practice.

I don't know whether there also was an official voting for dotside,
but that one is de-facto official as well.
