Not really an answer to your question, but why would {zu'e mi viska ko'a} expand into {mi zuxte lo nu mi viska ko'a}? Who said that {mi} suddenly should occupy viska1? Couldn't a statement of the sort {zu'e mi do viska mi} = "By my volition, you saw me"? I.e. the {zo'e} in x1 shouldn't necessarely have the same referent as the {zo'e} in the {zu'e} tag... should it?
