There are lots of cmavo one would prefer to be monosyllabic, with vau'u far from the top of the list, and the BPFK will need to decide firstly whether to recycle any formerly assigned monosyllabic cmavo and secondly which available monosyllabic cmavo forms to assign to which candidate functions.

Until that happens, you should always choose a disyllabic experimental cmavo so that its usage frequency isn't distorted by its temporary monosyllabicity.

Agreed. The number of monosyllabic cmavo is very limited, and should ideally be reserved for the most frequently needed functions. The Korpora zei Sisku is a suitable tool for figuring out which cmavo or cmavo compounds are most used, and thus best candidates for monosyllabicity.
