I went through a patch of what I think is poison ivy. There are three ways I 
could have done this and not gotten a rash:
*it's not actually poison ivy;
*it is poison ivy, but no urushiol got on my arms (my legs were completely 
covered);
*I'm not allergic.
With the blackberry thorns, it's unlikely that there are no broken or pierced 
leaves, but it is possible that I've misidentified the plant, so I said 
"apparently" because the plant may only appear to be poison ivy. If it's 
kudzu, it'll be obvious when it blooms.
