It could, based on context, mean:

• He has left (he is gone).
  
• He is left (he remains)
• He is left (he is standing to the left)
• He is left (he is left-wing politcally)

​"He's left" is unambiguous. It means he is no longer there. ​Therefore this is a really bad example, since it doesn't illustrate the point. 

Nothing comes to mind that might have been meant instead.
