[lojban] Syrian rue

I was going over some edits that Vincent Broman did to the Bible translation. 
In Luke 11:42 I had written "armala", which is from the species name; he 
changed it to "spatrpegano", from the genus name. (The other species of 
Peganum live elsewhere.)

Should the word derived from the genus name be "spatrpegano" or "spatrpigano"? 
The vowel in Greek is eta. The vowel in Aramaic is chiriq (/i/) according to 
the AENT. I looked at peshitta.org, but that text lacks vowels. (Both 
translations from Aramaic say "dill". Has the meaning of "pigana" changed in 
the last two thousand years?)

Should the word derived from the species name be "armala" or "xarmala"? The 
Arabic word is "حرمل", beginning with a guttural which I'm inclined to 
transliterate as "x". The Russian is "гармала"; the initial "г" points to /h/ 
which I'd drop. (Ukrainian, Czech, and Slovak all have /h/ instead of /g/.)
