[lojban] Re: rewrite rules

Certainly, any machine handling of the semantics of lojban texts would deploy many such rewrite rules to simplify and canonicalize the grammar.
There are so many alternate ways to express the same thing, and you don't want to have to handle them all separately.

I think there is some value in starting lojban lessons with the simplest, most useful, most universal words the language provides.
Knowing the equivalences would help a lot in identifying what is indispensible and what is mere syntactic sugar.

Interesting. Just for my information, do you think that those equivalents could be used...
  • ...to ease machine interpretation of Lojban texts?
  • ...to help writing simpler "beginners Lojban lessons", by providing means to learn fewer constructs and words?
