Well as it turns out there is a genus Antilope. The subfamilies are:
Antilopinae (dikdiks, gazelles, blackbucks, etc.)
Aepycerotinae (impala)
Alcelaphinae (gnu, bontebok)
Bovinae (cow, bison, buffalo, kudu, eland)
Caprinae (sheep, goat, bharal, musk ox)
Cephalophinae (Cephalophus and Sylvicapra, whatever those are)
Hippotraginae (addax, oryx, roan and sable antelopes)
Reduncinae (kobs, reedbuck)
So if we have a word {antilope}, it should refer only to the blackbuck, or to
its family, and not to the roan and sable antelopes.

I didn't see the gerenug, the dibatag, or the serow in there. Anyone know
where they went?
