As far as I and my dictionary project are concerned, any fairly structured
format is fine. That you remain consistent with whatever you choose is more
important than what you choose.

The fixed column width system is acceptable. It probably makes sense to
stick with that, too, for consistency. (It can be converted into other
formats trivially.)
