Lojban is the primary purpose of my website, but I would have a mention of it there even if it weren't. Lojban is a long way away from a critical mass of speakers, and has some pretty poor publicity at the moment. I had to find out about it from a friend. Injecting it into mainstream articles and conversations might be a big payoff. > If the problem when deciding between a bigger site or a smaller one is the > money, I think that a good advertising policy would certainly improve the > number of lojbanists, therefore rising the demand of books and allowing the > lojban community the luxury of having the bigger site, with the "lojban.org" > name. I'd go for the smaller site, and spend a little of the difference on banner ads or the like. > I know several "URL submitters", which allow one to submit the site to > different search engines at the same time, which would make the process > easier. Also, the site should definitely have META TAGS (veijo's site does > not have). Please give details about these meta tags. They aren't described in my manual. > Another improvement that could be done is to put an online form to buy the > book. It isn't hard to write the form, it's just difficult to make use of it. For instance, the credit card thing is probably out of the range of feasability right now, so payment by internet isn't very likely. The only thing that that leaves is an advance warning system. Now, we COULD write something that generates an html orderform with all of the correct information on it for them to print out and send with their check, but the NOW generation would feel a little cheated by that. co'o Robert Rapplean
