Because I like the x3-place of {fendi} with the idea of (divided in) "parts=
=3D=0D
" or "segments" (-> partitioned/segmented hoof) rather=20
than that of {sepli} which only denotes that "stuff" *between* those "parts=
=3D=0D
" (i.e. in our hoof example: noda!)
Further, as beautifully shown in your example "i ma fendi le sufti reda", {=
=3D=0D
fendi} gives the idea of something devided, i.e. (partly)=20
separated from *itself*, whereas {sepli} means separated/apart from an x2 w=
=3D=0D
hich assumably has to be something else than x1.
Look at the two definitions: "apart" and "separate" (of sepli) is something=
=3D=0D
else than "devide(d)" (of fendi)

I'm not too happy with the "agent" either, yet this seems to be just "psyc=
=3D=0D
holinguistic" ;-) Yet, x1 of {fendi} might be "mother=20
nature" as well, hence not at all "cruel".
BTW, there's no good word for "nature" in Lojban! Perhaps we should search =
=3D=0D
for this in lat. "natura" (about: born/created/
produced by itself?) or chin. "=B6=80=B5M" zi4 ran2/zyh ran (being by itsel=
f)
