Witness the english attitudinal! Note that it is not an assertion. If
only it were tied to a sentence we could determine if the sentence were
an assertion or not. :)

He complains about 2-char tabs (which don't exist), but if he could only
see the extra ^M at the end of every line he types.... or the way his
HTML mail looks in pine...
