I became interested in Lojban precisely because I feel the pain of translating Japanese patent descriptions into faulty illogical languages all the time. IMO Japanese syntax can hold more complexity with less ambiguity than English and German. Of course also Japanese has ambiguities, which force me to make painful decisions and then put a stamp on a document certifying that it is "an accurate translation" when I really can't. Only a Logical Language is really suitable for patent descriptions. With multilinguality in the EU, this is even more so. -phm
