I just thought I should be clear: it *is*, in fact, my intention to
put arbitrary amounts of work into cleaning everything up entirely
by personal fiat.  Y'all can oust me when it's done if you like.  :)

As you pointed out, the BPFK currently has a very informal structure.
The only structured part for now is the jatna position. Therefore,
until another structure develops, the yearly "State of the Language"
report will be issued by the jatna in the name of the BPFK, with the
final decision on its contents fully at the jatna's discretion.

Of course we all expect and know that the jatna will take the job
seriously and make whatever consultations they deem necessary before
acting, but the final decision is the jatna's alone. They might for
example prepare a draft report two weeks before January 1st, ask for
comments, and then make their decision based on the feedback they
receive, or whatever other method they find suitable to prepare the
report. The report is about the "State of the Language", not about the
"Final Definition of the Language from Here to Eternity", so there's
no reason to worry if it's not perfect in every minor detail.

That sounds like the right way of going about things. There is of course the slight risk that a rogue BPFKJ might do something reckless, but in any case they do not wield _absolute_ power - they report to the LLG, which can remove them, and revert their changes.

It is better to have a decision that stands unless a majority of the members are dissatisfied enough to reverse it, than to not have a decision at all unless everyone agrees.

Second.

I believe that Robin has always had the best interest in mind for the
language, has always had the perfect insight, and is a perfect balance
between Arnt's "No." policy and Jorge's "Well if we accept my proposal
on X..." policy.

So, my vote goes to Robin.
(Can I be vice-jatna?)
