I agree, in the case of the y-hyphen. The r-hyphen is different. I made the 
mistake of appending "-zba" to "fu'ivla" and getting "fu'ivlazba", which 
breaks apart. The correct spelling is "fu'irvlazba". If you remove "-zba", 
you get "fu'irvla", which is a fu'ivla. Allowing y-hyphens doesn't turn a 
valid word of one type into a valid word of another type; allowing r-hyphens 
does.

Here's a corner case of y-hyphens: ricpurdyxrula. If you use the shorter 
rafsi "pud", you have to insert "y" before it, else you get a tosmabru.
