I remain confused. {li pa} contains a number or mex, or both? {li R2D2}? {li pa su'i pa}? {li pa su'i abu}? And which ones would be killed?

The proposal to separate of digits and lerfu in strings is not orthogonal to the detri proposal, because the the detri proposal uses numbers that contain lerfu. But both proposals are (relatively) orthogonal to MEX, which is what "li" takes as an argument.
