Re: [bpfk] Type-3 fu'ivla

Given that type-3 fu'ivla are pretty much a convention anyway, these seem reasonable to me, especially #1. I don't see a big problem with so-called "type-3.5 fu'ivla" such as {djarspageti} or {sparfaiu}. And I guess {xoxrbeba} would be type 4, technically.

I'd like to propose two rules about type-3 fu'ivla:

1. If two fu'ivla are made with the same foreign part, one with a CVC rafsi
and one with a CCVC or CVCC rafsi of the same gismu, then they are alternative
forms of the same word, just as "ci'onrai" and "citrai" are the same word and
"xagmau" and "xauzma" are the same word. E.g. "fiprgado" and "finprgado" are the
same word.

2. A type-3 fu'ivla consists of a gismu rafsi ending in a consonant, the
appropriate interfix (-r-, -n-, or -l-, tried in that order until one gives a
phonotactically valid word), and a foreign part beginning with a consonant. If
a valid fu'ivla is not of this form, it's not a type-3 fu'ivla. E.g.
"spargani" and "spatrfaiu" are valid names for plants, but "sparfaiu" is not.
"spargani" is a type-4 fu'ivla based on the genus name "Sparganium",
"spatrfaiu" is a type-3 fu'ivla based on the genus name "Phaius", but
"sparfaiu", based on "Phaius", has "spa" as the rafsi, and it does not end in
a consonant, hence it is a type-4 fu'ivla and the entire word is based on the
foreign part, which it isn't.

A word with an unassigned rafsi ending in a consonant, followed by the
appropriate interfix and other wordstuff beginning with a consonant, is a type-3
fu'ivla, but cannot be defined. E.g. "xoxrbeba" is a type-3 fu'ivla, but cannot
be defined until someone first defines "xox". If a fu'ivla is made with an
unassigned rafsi, rule 1 cannot be applied to it.

The "foreign" part can in fact be "borrowed" from Lojban, or can be imitative,
hence the word "zi'evla".
