Why?

What is wrong with just converting your first sentence to get what I think
is the precisely same translation.
le ka xokau prenu ce'u nenri kei cu selzenba le vi kumfa
ca ro cacra li ci a li pano a li zeci

Those are indeed equivalent. By "subject" I did not mean "x1". Every argument of a Lojban bridi is equally a subject. Both my version and yours have a property as an argument, not the number. I meant that if we want the number as an argument in the main bridi, then we need to use lo-KIND.
