We should use C. myrrha, the internationally accepted form.

Not so.  Once the identity of two species is accepted by the scientific
community, then the first name given has priority (except in very unusual
circumstances).  The second name is still valid, but is deprecated.
These are the internationally agreed-on rules for both zoology and botany.
