Because it's not a gismu, it's a (somewhat rare) English word. :)
It means "for the present occasion". So a nonce-word is a
word used just for the occasion.

If you create it just for the occasion and not meant to be a
permanent word of the language, it is nonce.

If you keep using it, it will stop being nonce and it will become
a part of the word stock of the language.
