I had not replied because of work overload by the time the thread was active and afterwards I didn't find the motivation to reply mostly because Lojban is still hard for me to write into.
BTW, betsemes (if you're still listening), can I assume the original quote means something like, "those who ridicule what they know nothing about are ignorant"?
