I wonder, for instance, what's a rafsi for {damri}, which is currently non-existent?

The gi'uste only lists three-letter rafsi. All gismu (except for
brodV) have four-letter (initial and medial) and five-letter (final)
rafsi; thus, the rafsi for {damri} are {damr} and {damri}.

It's said that the number of rafsi assigned to a gismu depends on the
word's usefulness; but shouldn't {damri} be quite productive and
worthwhile, considering those numerous types of drum instruments in the world?

Those would probably be named as fu'ivla, though, not as lujvo, and
stage-3 fu'ivla use the four-letter rafsi anyway, not one of the
three-letter rafsi.

So, for example, a bongo might become {damrnbongo}.
