[lojban-beginners] Re: newbies troubles 2



I find je'unai (theoretically, since I don't have any opportunities to use Lojban .uinai) helpful in situations where it can be difficult to tell if you're being sarcastic; especially in online communication. It is also useful as a sort of "air quote". Of course, it's requiredness can be a pain to those who are used to sarcasm. It's just a price to pay for "audio-visual isomorphism", I guess.

As for this situation, I'd either avoid sarcasm altogether, or make the sentence longer ( je'unai ba'e mutce cai xajmi). To indicate anger without being sarcastic, you use o'onai. Possibly (naicai o'onaicai).
