They are basically a plastic bag with a little funnel attached on the top. There is some god-awful smelling powder inside to which you add water when it's time to use. Well, they work remarkably well. The flies are swarming. And inside is a vision of fly hell. Floating in the foul liquid are hundreds, thousands, of dead insects. Their still living cellmates buzz and crawl around on top of them. I noticed yesterday that maggots had appeared. This means that some poor doomed fly bothered to coupulate while waiting to die. I wonder if it is possible to have a second or even a third generation live their entire lives within the confines of the disposable bag. To what degree should I feel guilty about having participated in this nightmare scene? mu'o mi'e pit |
