Why not "nilmasno", then? Because it points to a certain polarity. And
so does "nilsutra".

True, in some languages, the word for "speed" is lexically related to
the word for "fast" (like the Spanish "rapidez" and "rápido", or the
Japanese "速度" and "速い"); but this is not a universal tendency. Lojban
cares for cultural neutrality, so the polarity-specific "nilsutra" may
be questionable.

Also, if we had a gismu for the neutral sense of "speed", we could
have derived two lujvo for "fast" and "slow" (i.e. "bu'a zei zmadu"
and "bu'a zei mleca"). Make one get two free.
