Subject: [lojban-beginners] zbasu, finti, and cupra
I was working on learning the gismu when I found {cupra} which is defined as:
cupra pra produce x1 produces x2 [product] by process
x3 8f 22 (cf. zbasu, farvi, gundi, jukpa)
Now, how does this differ from {finti} and {zbasu}?
Cars are assembled repetitively from sub-assemblies and componets (zbasu).
Gasoline/petrol is produced by a continuous process (cupra).
Paintings (usually) are created once only and are unique (finti).
There are of course an infinite number of 'in-between' situations. The challenge
then in lojban is the same as in anyother language. Either special terms like
'batch processing' are invented, or whole sentences are needed to facilitate
understanding.
