Re: [lojban-beginners] rupnu / jdini

"x1 is measured in major-money-units (dollar/yuan/ruble) as x2 (quantity), monetary system x3."

{pa la.iuros.rupnu li papicivo lo meryru'u}
"1 Euro is measured as 1.34 US dollars."

I have seen it used in this sense:

{papicivo lo meryru'u cu ve vecnu lo plise dakli}
"US$1.34 is the cost of a bag of apples."

As in:
{lo plise dakli cu rupnu li papicivo lo meryru'u}
"An apple bag is measured as 1.34 US dollars."

but that's what vecnu is for, not rupnu.

I'm a lojban supernoob and I've been studying the basics recently. I've just encountered the gismu "rupnu" which I am told means "money" as in "x1 is money of quantity x2 in currency-unit x3). If this is the case, is it used to express money conversions (e.g. $9 = £5.35) or a different sort of relation? Could anyone give a simple example sentence demonstrating its proper usage?
