Re: [lojban-beginners] zo'e: to restrict or not
I don't have a problem with either one. The one describes, the
other clarifies. If my dog is laying on the carpet sleeping, as he is
in fact doing right now, then "zo'e noi gerku cu sipna" is "the thing
(dog) is sleeping", whereas "zo'e poi gerku cu sipna" is "the thing
that IS a dog is sleeping" to make sure you understand the zo'e I'm
talking about (which remember is basically a social contract between
hearer and listener that we both know what we're talking about) isn't
my son (who happens to also be sleeping, so I might be talking about
him, if it weren't for that poi).
