I believe wxpython is a library that's built off of wxwidgets, yes. I'm trying to make a test app now that registers a simple hotkey, but I'm struggling with it.I may make a few quick fixes to the AutoIt version just to get a few of the other issues (besides cross-platform support) fixed for a V1.1 before working on this python port project.

different libraries and code then...may be it's better to improve
GoldenDict then?
Qt (which GoldenDict is built on) is also cross-platform. It has nice
modules like "built in web-browser", network access. By the way, it is
possible to create dictionaries that can speak (pronunciation of
different words).
