I think Pierre was right about this, the x1 of katna is a tool that
chops, so it's not Mary that's cutting the wood... unless your axe is
named Mary! That would be a good name for an axe.

What we usually use for this is "kixsku" (also sometimes spelled
"ki'asku") which is from krixa + cusku (to say) and means x1 cries out
expression x2 to audience x3 through medium x4.
With "du'u" the first place is a predication, a meaning, and the
second place is a sentence that expresses that meaning. Neither of
those fit directly with the second place of "krixa", which is a sound.
