Re: [lojban-beginners] @weekday: Calendars in Lojbanistan

I think we should hold ourselves off from deciding on a calendar until after we've decided what /names/ to use. That said, my vote is to use whatever calendar is official to your locality. Choosing a calendar may be more important if/when jbogugde actually, physically exists, but until then, it's just "being different to be different", AFAIAC.

On the topic of "culturally neutral, logical datekeeping," is there a generally recommended lojban calendar system? How about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fixed_Calendarhttp://calendars.wikia.com/wiki/World_Season_Calendar or http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symmetry454 ? Logical and foreign to all seems like a way to avoid strong cultural bias.

Asimov's World Season Calendar seems to distance itself most from the 7-day week.
