This seems somewhat broken to me, as it makes it impossible to tell
where a cmene ends - unless it is forbidden to _contain_ pauses.
Otherwise, if you hear .<sounds>.<sounds> it's impossible to tell
whether there's another . that ends the cmene coming up, with the
second <sounds> being part of the cmene, or whether the cmene is just
the first .<sounds>., with the second <sounds> being lojban.
