Very short answer: No.

Short answer: As far as I know, it is certainly not safe to say so.

Longer answer: This has been a point of considerable debate in the past,
and I'm not sure whether any resolution was reached, and if so, which.

There were those (like me) who thought that attitudinals should not be
able to modify the meaning of a sentence, and there were others who
thought that some attitudinals didn't and some others (like e.g. a'o and
e'o) most certainly did.

Anyone else care or feel able to elucidate further?
