.iacu'i Don't tell me that I was the only girl on this list before
Naomi came along... I mean, come on. Sure, there's a bit of a skew in
the distribution. But me being the only female (and then only when I
feel like it)? Recockulous. :P ^_^;;

I met someone on the IRC channel named .eimi., who claimed to be a mail list lurker, and Amy is a female name.

I'd like to eventually have enough skill in myself
and enough interest on campus to be able to teach an extracurricular
class on it (or even have Lojban Club!) but I know that such things
are, shall we say, not so likely.

Take it from someone who has actually started a local Lojban group meeting in his house, even when you have the perfect audience tailor-made for the language they will often suffer a sudden attack of outside life and need to drop out for a while. A more flexible solution will be provided by Web 2.0 services such as messyboard, video conferencing and voice over I.P., through which all interested Lojbanists with an internet connection will be able to schedule a meeting together. Of course I mean mature and functioning voice over I.P. software which has only recently born fruit. And most importantly, just like any Web 2.0 feature, a Lojban webmeeting only works if Lojbanists show up. My dream is to host a bilingual Lojban internet radio show with call-ins on a monthly or bi-weekly basis, and have a meeting discussion agenda posted to the mailing lists in advance of each show. I have a friend who runs a weekly internet radio show, which I co-host. There is a lot of activity from listeners over I.R.C. but my friend attests how difficult it is to set up technology to get call-ins.
