[lojban-beginners] Re: Period



So does ".y." necessarily have to be a short sound? I'm pretty used to having a drawn out "Uhhh..." when I hesistate.

In fact, that is the only thing that a Lojban period *can* indicate:
it means "pause here".

However, it really shouldn't be used for hesitation pauses (that's
.y.) or to group clauses (that's not done with pausing in Lojban).
