It could be, in an informal context.
{la uindouz} or similar would be a bit more formal
and probably {la'o gy Windows gy} in something like
a contract.

I have used {veisro} for "file" in translating the Wiki
interface.

A "metafile", if I understand the definitions I found, is
not a file but a specific graphics file format. Perhaps
something like {rejmo'a} for "file format"?
