[lojban-beginners] Re: FW: lojban talks! (fwd)

The local group watched Love and Plutonium at our meeting on
Wednesday. It was about as good as a high school play; the acting,
pacing, music, costumes, and sets would have to have been at least a
little bit professional to outweigh the negative of the poor script.
But these factors were all embarrassingly bad and would have reflected
poorly on Lojban to be the only film associated with the language. So,
ultimately we decided not to translate Love and Plutonium. We intend
to watch Call of Cthulhu at our next meeting to determine its
appropriateness for translation.

Suggestions and words already coined for some of these words:
arrest: {flakavbu}, in one sense; {sisti}, in another.
allergic: {se srebandu}.
angel: {angeli}.
constitutional: {sera'a le cmufla}.
fructose: {rutsakta}.
garofalo: If it's what I think it is, it's {kriofla}.
mandrake: Is it the same as {mandragora}?
slug: I've thought of {cakcau cakcurnu} or {cakcau skargolu}, but there ought
to be a single word for this.
thrombosis: {blujge}.
