What about {lo bradi cu rinsa .ei} "the enemy calls"?
To me, that means "the enemy ought to greet us" (Or a bit
more precisely: "it ought to be the case that the enemy greets us").
{lo jamna} also has x1: actor, same issue as {lo damba}.
Is there an abstractor that pulls the "verb" out?
{pu'u jamna} == process of (x1 wars on x2) == "war"?
{si'o damba} == concept of (x1 fights x2) == "combat"?
{zu'o damba} == activity of (x1 fights x2) == "fighting"?
{pu'u}, {zu'o}, {za'i} and {cu'i} are all cases of {nu}. I tend to avoid them
and just use {nu}, so I would say {lo nu jamna}, {lo nu damba}.
