I don't know about your logical problem but I think you need points: at the end of names, e.g. {alis.} and {djan.}, and at the beginning of connectives, e.g. {.a}, {.e} and {.i}. Martin
You're right. There should even be a period before {.alis.} because it's a word beginning with a vowel. I read that "technically, the period is an optional reminder to the reader" (refgram, chapter 3). However, that does not mean that it's good to omit the periods.
