It might be worth pointing out that the _real_ Zipf's law has nothing
to do with word lengths, but only with word frequencies, see:

The lojbanic use of "Zipf's law" to refer to the fact that frequent words
tend to be short is one of the traditional misuses of technical terms
by Lojbanists. Not that it is terribly important what one calls things,
but one has to be aware that Lojbanic terminology has high chances
of being completely non-standard, even if the concepts hidden behind
the false terminology do make sense.
