"The event of me going" is not an observative, and I'm not sure what
you're saying with '(±tense/aspect/whatever).' Could you spell it out
for me?


I don't know about the other things in this conversation, but this I learnt the other day. { nu ... A...  kei } bundles up a bridi A into a selbri which has a place structure "x1 is state/process/achievement/activity of [bridi]". In this case { mi klama} is a bridi and then { nu } bundles it up into a selbri. So it is an observative, since { nu mi klama [kei] } is a selbri and there is no x1 sumti before nu.
