Precisely the sort of change I feared would get proposed to byfy, and 
precisely the sort that I will vote to veto.  Sure, with a 
better-than-LR(1) parser we could make grammar changes that would 
"simplify" or "improve" the language.  The time to do that was 10 years 
ago.  We are out of the language design phase, and merely trying to 
document the *completed* language, fixing things that are undocumented or 
broken.  It isn't broken, so we don't need to fix it; save it for "Son of 
Lojban".
