I will, in general, vote against any change that invalidates past usage.

It would be easy to draw up a change like this such that it did *not*
invalidate past usage, and in that case I have no idea if I would vote
for it or not.

Regardless, this has *not* been proposed to the byfy, and such a
proposal would be marginally out of order because it doesn't involve the
current checkpoint (although people can do whatever they want in their
own shepherd areas until they get checkpointed).

By the way, we still have no shepherds for the current checkpoint.
