[lojban] nuts!

i'd broaden it to all engineering, including automotive engineering and carpentry, at least in english. whether it's so in other languages i don't know.
i just looked up the russian, which is "gajka - female screw, nut". 'female' there means 'enveloping, enclosing' (okhvatyvayushchij) or 'embracing, enveloping' (obnimayushchij).
so, at least in russian, the metaphor is lost.
