local zoo gives pbs the genus Thalarktos,
doubling the "bear of the sea" label,
{xasycribe}.
The Cincinnati Zoo uses Ursus maritimus, but I've always seen it as Thalarctos maritimus. Webster's Third New International Dictionary gives both for polar bear.
