Depending on which of the half dozen computer related PIM acronyms you meant
IL is one of the biggest and most well known examples of one.

I suspect you meant Platform Independent Model, which is exactly what .NET
is, except instead of using lojban as the interaction language it uses
practically any programming language that then compile to IL (Intermediate
Language) which acts as the interface between functions.
