Hello.
Hi all,
[I tried to send this a few days ago, but I think I got the address wrong.
I hope no-one's seen this twice... Anyway...]
I was briefly on the Lojban List about 2-3 years ago, but I bailed out
because of thesis commitments. I'm about to submit said thesis and I've
just rekindled my interest in Lojban.
A few of us in my department have started a small Lojban study group. We're
hoping to build a small amount of language expertise and then advertise
around campus to get other interested people to start a Lojban club. I'd
appreciate hearing from anyone who is trying or has tried something
similar, I'm sure we have a lot to learn.
We met today and Mark, one of the members of the group, offered a
translation of a piece of text he'd been writing. We hacked at the
translation for while and only ended up finishing the first sentence.
I've included the sentence below in Lojban with a gloss and English. The
parser likes it, but I just wanted more experienced jbotadni thought.
Apologies if the gloss doesn't follow convention.
