Why have I not heard more about extropian groups showing 
interest in lojban? Surely language is the most basic and 
important optimization.

Perhaps they haven't heard of it. I know that pamplets have been 
handed out at sci-fi conventions, but what about transhumanist 
ones, such as the one being held in Toronto in August (I believe 
it is called TransVision 2004)?

Perhaps I can help change that. I see no reason why I won't be 
spending a lot of time and effort into this project in the future.
