"Branching" means that one species becomes several species. {farvi} means that
one species becomes another species. In languages, Latin branched into
Sardinian, Romanian, Italian, Spanish, French, etc., while Attic developed
into Modern Greek but did not branch (Tsakonian is descended from another
ancient dialect).
