lojban official reference licensing

i'm interested in mirroring the official lojban reference
http://lojban.org/publications/reference_grammar/chapter1.html
then gradually edit it into to my needs as i read it. (so as to generate a
tutorial from different perspective)

The licensing has this clause:

Permission is granted to copy and distribute modified versions of this book,
provided that the modifications are clearly marked as such, and provided
that the entire resulting derived work is distributed under the terms of a
permission notice identical to this one.

this requirement for marking modified places is a bit impractical to follow.
Is it possible to change this? Perhaps replacing it with something like a
clear notification that this is a modified version?
